Mary Marjorie Christian Stephens, 92

May 4, 1933  –  March 26, 2026

Tupelo-Mary Marjorie Christian Stephens was born on March 26, 1933 in the Peace Valley Community of Itawamba County, the only child born to the late Albert Chestine Christian and Gerthie Green Christian. She graduated from Itawamba Agricultural High School and attended Itawamba Junior College. On Sept 29, 1956, she married Kenneth Wayne Stephens, a fellow Itawamba Countian. They moved to Tupelo in 1959 and lived here until their deaths. To this union was born two sons, David and Thomas. Marjorie and Kenneth were longtime faithful members of Wesley United Methodist Church raising their children there and participating fully in the ministries of the Church. Marjorie spent her working life working as an Office Clerk at Blue Bell Manufacturing, she enjoyed working 12 years as Teacher’s Assistant at Rankin and Joyner Schools. Always a master baker and cook, she became known far and wide for cooking for the public anytime but especially on holidays and special events. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and traveling throughout her life.



A Graveside service will take place at 1 PM Monday, March 29, 2026 at Itawamba Memorial Gardens on Old Hwy 178 east of Fulton. Rev. Kenny McGill will speak along with family members. The family will receive friends before and after the graveside. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to be serving their friends. Mrs. Stephens is survived by her two sons; David Wayne Stephens (Leslie) of Plantation, Fla and Thomas Earl Stephens (Courtney) of Oakland, Calif.; her grandchildren, Caroline Stephens Holcomb (Luke), Natalie Stephens and Chandler Stephens; her great grandchildren, Clark, Lucie and Cooper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Stephens on June 1, 2019, her parents, Chestine and Gerthie Christian and a granddaughter, Anna Katherine
