Master Gardeners add five to ranks, elect 2018 officers
Five individuals became certified master gardeners at the November meeting of the Union County Master Gardeners. These individuals completed their required training hours and done 40 hours of volunteer service. Recent graduates include (l-r) Joyce Reese, Glen Williams, Martha Cook and Kathi Tomsky.
A new Master Gardener class will begin February 20. Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursdays from 1-5 at the Union County Extension Office and go through March 27th. The cost of the class is $100 and must be paid by February 6th. We must have 5 signed up to have the class. Call the Union County Extension Office at 662-534-1916 to register or for more information.
The Union County Master Gardeners elected officers for the 2018 year.
They are (l-r) Kathi Tomsky-Secretary, Katherine Rakestraw-Vice President, Judy Harrison- President and Dee Shields-Treasurer. In 2017 the Union County Master Gardeners volunteered over 2500 hours in projects and events.
