Maxine Anderson, 82

December 4, 1942 – January 12, 2025

Maxine Anderson, 82, of Collierville, TN, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, MS,  transitioned on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East, Memphis, TN.

Maxine Anderson passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2025. She was born on December 4, 1942, in Marshall County, MS to loving parents Charlie and Thelma Anderson. She attended Byhalia High School. At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Pleasant Hill C.M.E. where she was a dedicated member until her death.

She moved from Mt. Pleasant, MS to Collierville, TN in January 1971 where she resided until her passing. Maxine had many occupations, but the dearest jobs to her were those of Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Friend.

Maxine had a love for cooking that began in high school where she excelled as a student in Home Economics, which led to her participating in a prestigious Home Economics Program that allowed her to travel around the county cooking & sewing with her teacher Mrs. Leslie Davison. Maxine became an exceptional cook, known for her delicious meals that brought family and friends together. Her kitchen was always filled with the aroma of her home cooking, and her recipes would be passed down through generations   She was also known for her outspoken nature, never hesitating to speak her mind and stand up for what she believed in, even if it meant standing alone. Her strong will and determination were an inspiration to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and 3 Siblings; E. L. Anderson, Laura Sanders, and Marget Howell. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her 4 Brothers; R. C. Anderson (Juanita), Wilbert Anderson, Velma Anderson (Delorise), and Jodie Anderson (Melinda), one sister; Wanda Jordan (Jimmie).  Her Children Brenda Landers (Jonathan), Phillip Anderson (Alicia), Maurice Anderson (Schwana), and Victor Anderson. Her Grandchildren Andrea Owens, Marteen Anderson (Karis), Phillip Anderson Jr, (Julia),  Morlyncia Anderson, Chase Anderson (Maria), Phillip (Trey) Anderson III, and Phillip (Chip) Anderson IV. Her Great-Grandchildren Aniah Owens, Landen Ferguson, Kylan Anderson, Makaylah Anderson, Karaina Anderson, Santasia Anderson, Malaysia Anderson, Jayden Anderson, Journee Anderson, MiAmoura Anderson, Aubree Anderson, Heir Anderson, Kayden Anderson, Elijah Anderson, and Immanuel Blakney, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Viewing will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 12:00 Noon, and Service will be at 1:00 p.m., at Pleasant Hill C.M.E. Church, 4244 Highway 72, Holly Springs, MS  38635.

Burial will take place in the Church Cemetery.
