Melacca Jean Williamson, 56

July 8, 1968 – November 4, 2024

On Monday, November 4, 2024, Melacca Jean Williamson, 56, resident of Myrtle, passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.

Funeral services for Mrs. Williamson will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, November 6, 2024, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care with Bro. Perry Reed officiating.  Visitation will be from 5 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, and from 11 AM until service time on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care.  Burial will follow in the Locust Grove cemetery in Union County.

She was born July 8, 1968, in New Albany, to the late Gene Hutcheson and Clara Jean Jobe.  She received her education from the New Albany school system and was a valued employee of Premier Foam for over forty years. She married her beloved husband, Anthony Leon Williamson on October 26, 1985, and together they enjoyed the simple things in life.  In 2019, Anthony passed away suddenly, and this left Melacca heartbroken, but with her children and her grandchildren by her side she prevailed but nothing could take the place of her beloved Anthony.

A lady with an easy-going spirit, her favorite past times included listening to classic rock music, especially Led Zeppelin, being a wonderful mother who was very proud of all her children and being “Maw” to her grandchildren, that she enjoyed sharing time with.   Melacca will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all that loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Jessica Nichols (Eugene), one son, Mark Williamson (Anna) and five grandchildren, Haiden Williamson, Karley Gullick, Marley Williamson, Mackenzie Williamson and Madden Williamson.  We love you, Maw!

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one brother, Daniel Allen Hutcheson.
