Michael Andrew Adderholt, 51
July 31, 1975 – August 28, 2026
Tupelo-Michael Andrew Adderholt, 51, of Tupelo, Mississippi, passed away far too soon on Friday, August 28, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center. Michael was a beloved father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, and veteran. Those who loved him will remember a man of strong character, generous spirit, and deep devotion to his family. His loss leaves an immeasurable void, but his life, laughter, and the love he gave so freely will remain forever cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A graduate of Tupelo High School, Michael continued his education at Itawamba Community College, Mississippi State University, and the University of West Florida. Among the accomplishments of which he was most proud was his service in the United States Navy. He served as a Petty Officer aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt and USS John C. Stennis, traveling abroad and serving his country with great pride. His military service remained an important part of who he was, and his family deeply admired his commitment, courage, and love of country.
Michael was a skilled woodworker and the owner of Homegrown Sawmill Company, where he found fulfillment in creating with his hands and sharing his craftsmanship with others. He was also an avid golfer who enjoyed time at Big Oaks Golf Course with friends, both old and new. His interests were many and reflected his joyful, curious spirit: fishing, playing guitar, listening to and enjoying music of all kinds, and spending time with his faithful dog, Joey. Above all, Michael loved his family. He was especially proud of Cullen, and the love he held for his children will remain one of the most enduring parts of his legacy. Though his time with us was much too short, Michael will be remembered with profound love and admiration by his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever held close in the hearts of those who loved him.
A memorial service honoring his life and times will be held at 3 PM Friday, September 4, 2026, in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Rev. Jeremy Funderburk and Steve Holland speaking. Visitation will be from 1 PM to service time Friday only. His cremains will be scattered in the Gulf according to Navy traditions near Pensacola, where he did his basic training. Holland Funeral Directors are honored to be serving the friends and family.
Michael is survived by his son, Cullen; his daughter, Tinslee; his parents, Sammy and Peggy Adderholt; his sister, Melissa; his honorary sister, Barbara; his aunts; many beloved cousins, and Maddox and Paxton, whom he loved deeply and proudly embraced as his own sons. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Flossie Monts, and his paternal grandparents, Buddy and Hazel Adderholt.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Pip Pipkin, Jeremy Scruggs, Matt Foster, Jake Rajacich, Johnathan Aguirre, Tommy Pharr, and Arik Yount.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or a veterans’ charity of the donor’s choice.
