All junk motor vehicles were gone when this photo was taken Thursday afternoon, Mar. 23rd. More than 100 junk cars were illegally kept at the site on Snyder Street in downtown New Albany before city officials cracked down on the junkyard owner two months ago.
A beautiful view of New Albany! Dr. Shane Scott sent us this beautiful photo. It was taken at 4AM this morning (3-24-17), from the recently revealed vantage point atop the Oxford Road hill. The foundation was laid this morning for the new Internal Medicine and Pediatric Clinic being constructed just below the hill.
The soon-to-be New Albany Cracker Barrel Old Country store is nearing the final stages of construction for its May 2017 opening. The building is now painted, and the parking lot base is installed and ready for paving. Interior work, equipment installation, paving, sidewalks, lighting and signage, etc. still remain to be done. The Cracker Barrel is slated to seat about 180 customers and to employ 175 workers, both full-time and part-time.

As our observance of Martin Luther King Day, we post this photo of a statue of him with a Buddhist monk. As far as we know, it is the closest to New Albany of any life-sized statue of Dr. King. It is in Panola County.
