Miss New Albany Pageant is precursor to state hospitality competition
New Albany Main Street and the office of Community Development are preparing to host their second annual Miss New Albany pageant.
The pageant is scheduled for Feb. 20 at the Magnolia Civic Center and is a precursor to Miss Hospitality Mississippi.
Last year’s Miss New Albany, Ivy Jordan, will get to crown the next young woman who will go to the 2021 statewide competition in Hattiesburg.
In addition to Miss New Albany another aspect, Miss Teen New Albany, has been added.
Both pageants are scholarship-based and are being organized by Chris Pugh, who said, “We have plans to make this pageant one of Mississippi’s best and largest local scholarship providers in the Miss Hospitality program statewide!”
Billye Jean Stroud, Main Street and Community Development director added, “We are so thankful to have Chris on board. His years of experience have already made a huge difference for our plans.”
Teens 14 through junior year in high school and young women ages 18-24 who are interested in participating in the pageant can get information and applications at newalbanymainstreet.com or by calling Chris Pugh at 662-316-8594.
