Mona Faye Simpson

April 26, 1938 – June 2, 2019



 

Mona Faye Taylor Simpson, 81, formerly of New Albany, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Spring Meadows Health Care Center in Clarksville, TN. She was born April 26, 1938 in Amory, MS to Herbert Roy Taylor and Annie Jane Dill Taylor. She was retired and was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in New Albany.

Funeral services will be at 10:00a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Dr. Jeff Lawrence officiating. Burial will be at Flat Rock Cemetery. United Funeral Service will be in charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by two daughters, Vanessa Price (Scott) and Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Bland (Jeremy), both of Clarksville, TN; two sons, Walter Thomas Simpson, Jr. and Tony Simpson, both of New Albany; a sister, Linda Beaty; a brother, David Taylor; thirteen grandchildren: April Hudson (Chris), Dr. Tabetha Simpson (Joseph Takacs); Dr. Brittney Simpson, Wesley Simpson (Destiny), Whitney Swallows (Justin), Stephen Price (Sheri), Shelby Price (Liz), Lindsey Aguilar (Noe), Kenzie Simpson, Blake Simpson, Daniel Bland, Chris Bland and Ellie Bland; fifteen great grandchildren: J.T, Addie, and Ruthie Hudson, Sam Swallows, Briana, Kennedy and Harper Price, Averie and Shepard Price, Jessica, Lilianna and Noe, Jr., J.R., Remi Kate and Skylar Simpson; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Thomas Simpson, Sr.; a son, Ray Simpson; a sister, Sylvia Wallace; a brother, Bill Taylor and a great granddaughter, Natalie Aguilar.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers and her granddaughters and great-grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church from 5:00p.m. till 8:00p.m.
