MS Covid-19 update 15APR20: MS reports highest new cases to date
About the case count: The MS Department of Health currently updates its map and statistics each morning with test results from the previous day that were reported by 6:00 PM that day. Outside laboratories also report positive test results, which are included the totals. County case numbers and deaths may change as investigation finds new or additional information.
Mississippi statistics
Reported April 15, 2020:
The MSDH is reporting 273 new positive cases of Covid-19 and 11 additional deaths, This brings the state’s totals since reporting began on March 11, 2020, to 3360 cases and 122 deaths. The hospitalization rate (as of April 14) dropped to 28%.
The MSDH website is now carrying more information on cases by race and by underlying health condition such as hypertension, heart disease and diabetes.
Northeast MS statistics area by county:
Northeast MS reported 20 new positive Covid-19 cases in 9 counties. There was 1 additional deaths in NE Mississippi, which brings the NE Miss death total to 23.
