MS Covid-19 update 19APR20: NE Miss and statewide see record new cases
About the case count: The MS Department of Health currently updates its map and statistics each morning with test results from the previous day that were reported by 6:00 PM that day. Outside laboratories also report positive test results, which are included the totals. County case numbers and deaths may change as investigation finds new or additional information.

Reported April 19, 2020:
The MSDH is reporting 300 new positive cases of Covid-19 and 7 additional deaths, This brings the state’s totals since reporting began on March 11, 2020, to 4274 cases and 159 deaths. The hospitalization rate dropped to 27.5 %.
The MSDH website is now carrying more information on cases by race and by underlying health condition such as hypertension, heart disease and diabetes.
Northeast MS statistics area by county:
Northeast MS reported 29 new positive Covid-19 cases in 10 counties. There were 4 additional deaths in NE Miss, bringing the area’s total to 29 deaths from coronavirus 11 counties.
