Mueller to resign as Board of Supervisors’ attorney to take new job
Thad M. Mueller of New Albany, who has been attorney for the Union County Board of Supervisors for 12 years, will change jobs June 1st.
Mueller told NAnewsweb.com Tuesday afternoon that he has accepted appointment as an assistant district attorney in Mississippi’s Circuit Court District 3, which includes Union County.
Other counties in District 3 include Benton, Calhoun, Chickasaw, Lafayette, Marshall and Tippah.
“It has been a privilege to represent the Board of Supervisors for the past 12 years. Over the years I’ve enjoyed great relationships with the supervisors, including Norman Treadaway, James Byers, Danny Jordan and the current President, Randy Owen,” said Mueller. “I am looking forward to this new opportunity.”
District Attorney Ben Creekmore, also a New Albany resident and a former private practice law partner of Mueller, has made the appointment.
It is rumored that another Union County lawyer is the leading candidate, perhaps the all-but-confirmed candidate, to replace Mueller but no official announcement has been made.
