New Albany MS Union Co. Heritage Museum

New Albany, MS- The first Museum Moments of January 2020 will feature a look into the past of the 24 Forward Together newspaper special issues which began in 1971 and continued for 24 years. These issues have served a first rough draft of the history of Union County and a valuable resource to historians who want more information about Union County people, churches, schools, post offices, athletic histories and more.

While the work of many individuals, Forward Together special newspaper sections were started by William Rutledge who owned the Gazette newspaper at the time, there is one writer who stands out as a principal contributor.

J. Lynn West, who has written thousands of words about New Albany, Union County and its people and places, has recently shifted gears in his life. This Museum Moments will celebrate the invaluable historic information and photographs collected in these Forward Together issues and the work of West and others who worked on this invaluable resource.

Museum Moments is made possible by our Community Partner. A light lunch will be served beginning at 11:30 , through the courtesy of Junta Club.

For more information call the museum at 662 538-0014. The museum is located at 114 Cleveland Street, New Albany.
