Myrtle department responds to cotton picker fire

The Myrtle Fire Department responded to a cotton picker on fire just of County Road 276 this past week, near I-22.

According to Myrtle Assistant Chief Lee Witt, the cotton picker was at a Young family farm.

Although raising cotton nearly vanished from Union County, it appears to be making something of a comeback. This was the second reported cotton picker fire in the area in the past couple of weeks.
