Myrtle High School senior dies in auto accident

A Myrtle High School senior was killed early Thursday morning in a single-car accident in rural Union County.

Joshua Swan, age 18, was killed when the vehicle he was driving on County Road 59 left the roadway and struck a tree.

First reports of the accident were made around 7 am.

Union County Coroner Pam Bowman said the victim had been the only passenger in the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
