New Albany light, gas and water office closed again

The New Albany Light, Gas and Water Department office on Cleveland Street will be closed, possibly for the next two weeks, due to precautions over COVID-19 exposure.

This includes the drive-through window at the office.

The office was closed for a couple of weeks earlier this year due to employees being positive for the virus and concern about other employees being infected.

“During this time, for payments we ask that you use one of the following options: one, our on-line pay site https://paybill.com/nalgw/; two, our drop box at the office or, three, mail,” light, gas and water manager Bill Mattox said in a message. “While our office is closed no late fees will be assessed.”
Mattox said a customer needs new service, is transferring or is dis-continuing service is asked to call 534-1041 to schedule an appointment with a representative.
“We are still responding to electric outage calls, gas leaks and water/sewer issues,” Mattox said.  “Please call 534-1041 for assistance.”
Mattox added, “We are very sorry for the inconvenience this causes our customers. Please have patience with us over the next few days.”
