NAES first graders explore Mexican culture
Jamie Glenn’s first grade students at New Albany Elementary School have recently been learning about Mexico. The story for the week was about a Hispanic family planning a surprise birthday party.
First grade students planned for their own classroom fiesta by making piñatas, maracas, and sombreros. These activities brought the story to life and students were able to explore the Mexican culture.
Moises Lemus, the owner of El Agave, spoke to the students about Mexican food and culture while the students enjoyed eating tacos and bunuelos.
