New Albany High School buzzes with activity surrounding its upcoming production of The Little Mermaid
It is taking a major effort to provide an entertaining look “Under the Sea.” Elaborate make-up and costumes for literally dozens of cast members have taken untold hours of planning, practice and production. Set construction, music, choreography, sound, lighting, staging… oh, yeah, and learning lines and cues, are all at fever pitch.
Students are getting experience in many fields: acting, singing, dancing. production, music, construction, costuming, sound, lighting, publicity, logistics, etc. It’s hands-on education that will also provide entertainment for audiences.
Performances of the musical, taken from the beloved Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale and the Disney production The Little Mermaid will be in the NAHS auditorium on February 12-14.
Thanks to Lee Thompson for the photos in the slide show, which give some idea of the details involved in the production.
