NAHS marching band has its best ever performance at State Band Competition

New Albany, Miss., October, 2018 – At the Mississippi High School Athletic Association’s 2018 Marching Band Competition, held October 27, New Albany School District’s high school marching band competed against fourteen bands at Northwest Rankin High School in Flowood, Mississippi.

New Albany High School Marching Band, known as The Pride of New Albany, took home the 4th place trophy, the highest the high school marching band has ever placed.

In the special awards categories, New Albany High School Guard received 2nd place for their performance and the band was awarded 3rd place for their musical performance.

Directors, David Hopple, Nathan Waycaster, and Michael Swann commented that The Pride of New Albany dedicates themselves all year, working through the summer months to perfect their performance. They are thankful for the work they do together and for the support they receive from the band parents, New Albany School District Administration, and the community as a whole.
