Nancy Lewis, 90

Ms. Alice Francis “Nancy” Lewis, 90, died Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from North MS Medical Center Hospice after a brief illness. She was born October 27, 1932 in Okolona, Mississippi to Brad and Tommy Jean Lewis. Nancy was married to Herman Devan Lewis for fifty-five years before his death October 9, 2010. She enjoyed being a homemaker, caring for many other children in the community, but loving them as her own. She was a wonderful southern cook and could fry anything. Nancy was strong, blunt, but kind. She loved gardening, flowers, watching birds, her many rescue animals, and especially her dog Jase.

A celebration of Nancy’s life and home-going will be at 11 AM, Thursday, February 9, 2023 in the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Randy Parchman officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to service time only at the funeral home. Private burial will follow in Boone’s Chapel Cemetery. Survivors include her grandchildren Lacey Hand (Jonathan) and Lenzi Carey (John), and great-grandchildren, Devan Hand, Kinzli Hand, and Eric Carey, all of Okolona, and daughter-in-law, Rachel Kehoe. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Eric Lewis, and her brother, Jake Lewis.

Pallbearers will be Mike Lewis, Tom Carey, Jay Hand, Darnell Perry, Timothy Robinson, and David Kehoe. Honorary pallbearers will be John Carey and Jonathan Hand.
