The heavy duty bikes, complete with flashing blue lights, will be used for patrolling the Tanglefoot Trail and the walking trails in the parks. Making police officers more accessible to people, the bicycles will serve both law enforcement and public relations purposes. Children are expected to find them fascinating, creating opportunities for a friendly first time contact with police officers.

The bikes will be in evidence at public events such as Tallahatchie Riverfest and Freedom Fest. They were in use Saturday night at the first Levitt AMP concert at the Park-Along-The-River. New Albany police officers Brent Baker and Stuart Dodds visited with concert goers and showed off their new rides.
