New Albany High School names District Teacher of the Year

Heather Ferrell, NAHS Teacher of the Year

Heather Ferrell, New Albany High School Teacher of the Year, is surrounded by her students and school administrators after it was announced that she was selected as New Albany School District Teacher of the Year on Monday, January 9.

Ferrell is a Special Education Tutorial teacher at New Albany High School, and has been teaching in New Albany since 2005. Her classes provide accommodations and specialized instruction to New Albany High School students who have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Mrs. Ferrell graduated from the University of North Alabama with a Master’s in Business Administration. She is also a National Board Certified Teacher. She and her husband John have two children.
