Walgreens burglary

Burglars broke into the Walgreens store at the intersection of I-22 and Highway 30 early Saturday morning.

New Albany Police Chief, Chris Robertson, said his department got the call at 3:45 a.m, Saturday morning, March 17. The alarm was initiated by the store’s security system.

Officers arrived within minutes and the burglars had fled the scene.

Robertson said merchandise, likely including drugs, had been taken in robbery. He said Walgreens’ employees are working Saturday with NAPD officers to take inventories to determine what was stolen.

Police are working to identify the burglars.
