Police Chief Chris Robertson confirmed that his department received a call about 10 a.m. Thursday concerning a student at New Albany High School threatening to harm himself.
Officers and an ambulance were dispatched as a precaution and the student left with medical personnel of his own accord, the chief said.
“No weapons were involved and the student will receive mental and medical help once at the hospital,” he added.
“There was no threat to anyone and the officers were dispatched simply as a precaution,” Robertson said.
