Ole Miss fan Chris Barnes: which injuries occurred where, and when? UPDATED

UPDATED: On November 25th, NAnewsweb.com posted the story below about Chris Barnes having received some of his injuries in a jail-house altercation. Yesterday, December 3rd, WTVA, Tupelo Channel 9, finally posted a similar story. Here is the link to the WTVA story: When and where did these injuries occur?

While we are aware of nothing official from the FBI, usually dependable sources say that Chris Barnes may have received  some of his injuries while in jail in Oxford.

Barnes was arrested Saturday, November 21, by officers of the University of Mississippi Police Department.

According to attorneys David Pool and Gerald Waggoner, who are the attorneys representing Barnes, he was charged with three misdemeanors following the incident between him and Ole Miss security officers at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. Attorneys say that Barnes will plead not guilty; his first court appearance will be on December 1st.

Saturday, Barnes was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

A video posted on Facebook by Holly Barnes, wife of Chris Barnes, shows Barnes in a physical confrontation with Ole Miss police officers. He was apparently struck one or more times by police officers during the confrontation

Barnes is said to have suffered a concussion, fractures to the bones of his eye socket, and other injuries.  A photograph and written comments posted on Facebook by Mrs. Barnes seemed to imply that his injuries were sustained during the arrest at the stadium.

However, usually credible sources say that some of the injuries received by Barnes may have been inflicted later, during an altercation with another prisoner while Barnes was in jail in Oxford.

One or more off-duty New Albany police officers, while employed by the University of Mississippi Police Department, were involved in the encounter with Barnes at the stadium. New Albany officer Brock White has been placed on paid administrative leave pending further information, including the results of an investigation by the FBI.

The federal agency was asked by the Ole Miss police department to take charge of the investigation.

It is not known when the FBI will make an official statement about the results of its inquiry into the events involving Chris Barnes and his injuries.
