MANTACHIE – Oliver Hays Erickson, 24, of Mantachie, passed away in a tragic motorcycle accident on November 3, 2024. Born on October 12, 2000, Oliver was a proud graduate of Mantachie High School and beloved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. During his life, he attended both Apostolic Life and The Pentecostals of Saltillo churches.
Known for his hardworking nature, goofiness, and genuine personality, Oliver was a bright light to all who crossed his path. Handsome and always dressed sharply, he carried himself with an effortless style that made him stand out. More importantly, he had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel like they were the most important person in the room.
Oliver had a special place in his heart for children and the elderly, and his kindness touched people of all ages. He was loving, and loyal, with a way of making even the simplest moments feel special. His memory will live on in the laughter he shared, the love he gave, and the countless lives he touched.
He is deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who loved him.
He is survived by his parents, Matt and Jennifer Erickson of Mantachie, and Amanda Wade; siblings, Maddie and Luke Erickson and Marley Josephine Metcalfe; grandparents June Erickson, Rod and Brenda Erickson, Ricky and Anita Floyd; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Sawyer Wade, and grandparents Betty and Joe Earnest, and Charles Buckner and Linda Brown.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 2 PM Thursday, November 7, 2024 from Apostolic Life Church (formerly Cedar Grove Pentecostal) with Pastor Danny Robbins and Pastor David Boyd officiating. Private family burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in the Ratliff Community of Itawamba Co. Visitation will be from 4 PM-8PM Wednesday, November 6, 2024 and from Noon-service time on Thursday, all at Apostolic Life Church, 2610 North Veterans Blvd, Tupelo, MS 38802. Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo is honored to be serving the family.
Pallbearers will be Keaton Hopkins, Caleb Floyd, Magers Carr, Mason Robbins, Robert Heikenfeld, and Kegan Graham. Honorary pallbearers will be Jalen Priest, Jonathan Boyd, Reed Priest, Auston Payne, Wesley Putt, Nolan Dillon, Eli Duffie, and Kade Robbins.
