Open Letter of Thanks from Superintendent Lance Evans
Thank you, New Albany! On September 25, you said “yes” to our students and our school district. You said “yes” to public education. Parents, community members, and school staff said “yes” to a continued partnership as we “prepare all for success”.
“Thanks” doesn’t seem to be an adequate word to describe my appreciation for so many who have assisted and supported us the past eight weeks as we prepared for the Bond Election.
I appreciate the hard work of Union County Circuit Clerk Phyllis Stanford and her office staff; New Albany City Clerk Frankie Roberts; and the election committee and poll workers for their help with the Election Day process.
Thank you to the members of the Community Bond Committee. The overall success of the bond election was due to your direction and support. I appreciate you all for giving of your time and expertise to assist us in kicking off the Bond Election Campaign.
Thank you to the following church and civic groups for allowing me to make informational presentations regarding the Bond Election: Junta Club, Mallalieu Veterans’ Breakfast Group, New Albany Rotary Club,New Albany Kiwanis Club, Boys & Girls Club Parents’ Group, NAACP, First Baptist Church Seniors Group, and Union County Retired Teachers Association.
I am grateful to our community volunteers, PTO and parent volunteers, teacher volunteers, and student volunteers who assisted us with various campaign activities throughout this process.
Thanks to the staffs of New Albany Elementary School, New Albany Middle School, New Albany High School, New Albany School of Career & Technical Education, and NASTUC for allowing me to speak to you regarding the Bond Election and the need for repairs and renovations in our district. Many of you went above and beyond and volunteered after hours with the bond campaign. I appreciate each of you for what you do in the classroom and in our school district each day.
A special word of thanks to our School Board, our administrators, and the Central Office staff for your support and assistance throughout this entire process.
The School Board and I pledge to work diligently in the coming months to be good stewards of the funds that you, the voters, have entrusted to us. Your continued commitment to our school district is appreciated and valued as we all work together to prepare all of our students for success.
Again, thank you, New Albany for saying Yes to our students and our schools.
Sincerely
Lance Evans
Superintendent
