New Albany – Ottis Brown Davis, 100, passed away April 26, 2019, in New Albany, Mississippi. She was born February 15, 1919, in Pontotoc County to L. O. Brown and Anna Clayton Brown. She married Joe Strawn Davis in 1941, who proceeded her in death.

She was a homemaker and constant helper to her husband on their farm. She enjoyed flowers and her vegetable garden. She was a member of Bethlehem Methodist Church and an avid Bible reader. She is survived by one son, Jerry Davis (Enola) of New Albany, two daughters, Martha Venable (Jimmy) of Charleston, MS and Carolyn Davis (Johnny) of New Albany, MS; five grandchildren-Joe Davis (Jennie) Justin Davis (Jennifer), Jeremy Davis (Chelsea), Jenna Cooper (Sam), all of New Albany, and Dawn Carson (Jeff) of Hernando, MS, five great-grandchildren- Katie, John, Isabella, Julie Davis, and Warren Cooper; two sisters- Jean Everett of Millington, TN and Novella Foster of Potts Camp, MS.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers- Otto Brown, Pete Brown , Dewitt Brown, five sisters- Lavonia LaFrain, Jewel Potts, Inez Gregory, Annie Martin and Jo Alexander.

Funeral Services will be April 28, 2019 at 3:00 pm at United Funeral Home in New Albany with Rev. Dr. Jeff Lawrence and Rev. Brownie Tohill officiating. Burial will follow at Glenfield Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of service. Pallbearers will be Justin Davis, Jeremy Davis, Joe Davis, Jeff Carson, Sam Cooper and John Davis.
