Patricia Aline “Pat” Simpson Owen, 81

August 14, 1943 – August 10, 2025

Patricia Aline Simpson Owen, age 81, fought the good fight, kept the faith, and won the victory as she stepped into her Eternal Glory on Sunday evening, August 10, 2025. In her final earthly moments, she was tenderly surrounded by her loving family and dear friends, who faithfully kept watch and spoke words of love as they said their goodbyes.

A funeral service honoring Mrs. Pat’s beautiful life will be held at 12 Noon, Friday, August 15, 2025, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home, with visitation from 10:30 AM until the time of service. Bro. Michael Hodgin will officiate. She will be laid to rest in Tippah Memorial Gardens, with no formal graveside service.

Born August 14, 1943, in Memphis, Tennessee, Mrs. Pat was the cherished daughter of the late Barnie Clois and Truda Bailey Simpson. She graduated from Humes High School and, on August 5, 1962, married the love of her life, Bro. Jerry Owen. Together, they built a marriage anchored in Christ, raising their three daughters with strong Christian values and making their home a place of welcome, laughter, and love for all who entered.

In earlier years, Mrs. Pat served faithfully as a Freed Hardeman Associate and was an active member of the Nursing Home Auxiliary, roles she fulfilled with compassion and joy. Yet, her greatest calling was that of a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, and dedicated homemaker. She embodied the heart of a true Proverbs 31 woman—her worth far above rubies, her hands always busy in service, and her heart ever fixed on loving others.

Mrs. Pat had a gift for making life more beautiful. She loved crafting jewelry, collecting colorful beads that reflected her vibrant spirit, and found her happiest moments during the holidays when family filled her home. A quirk that become so frequent, Mrs. Pat was quick to hold her hands out to anyone nearby with a smile, saying, “Feel how cold my hands are.”, yet, for all the chill in her hands, nothing warmed her heart more than being surrounded by those she loved. Even in the midst of memory loss, her eyes would still light up at the sight of familiar faces, and her smile was a silent testimony to a heart still full of love.

Though the last years of her journey were marked by the challenges of dementia, her spirit remained gentle and her faith steadfast. Today, she is healed, whole, and reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Bro. Jerry Owen, whom she loved with an unwavering devotion. Now, free from all earthly burdens, Mrs. Pat rests in the arms of her Savior, surrounded by the eternal joy she lived her life preparing for.

“Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23
