Patricia Ann Hogue, 74

July 19, 1950 – September 6, 2024

Patricia Ann Hogue, 74, passed away on Friday, September 6th. She peacefully left this world surrounded by those who love her most, and entered into Heaven with a smile on her face.

She was born in 1950, in Montgomery, AL, to the late Cecil Ray Hill and the late Anna Carolyn Carter Hill. She was the eldest of two daughters; with The Lord blessing her with a lifelong best friend in her younger sister, Donna.

She was married to Jerry “Bear” Watts, from 1969 until 1996, when he passed away. In their time together, they had two children. A daughter, Candace Jane and a son, Jeremy Patrick.

In 1997 she married the love of her life, Jerry Michael Hogue. With him she gained two bonus sons, Benjamin and Philip Hogue. Pat and Jerry were together for 16 years, until he went to his heavenly home in 2013.

Patricia was a graduate of WP Daniel High School. In her adult life she worked for several years as Secretary over her parent’s business, the International Harvester Snapper Lawnmower Dealership, in New Albany, MS. She eventually became Co-Owner, and the business became better known as Hill’s Lawn and Garden, until it closed its doors.

Over the past 20 years, she has worked as Sr. Tax Analysts for H&R Block, in Tupelo, MS. Through her career with them, she enjoyed meeting new people; many clients turning into friends.

Patricia enjoyed to travel, and collecting family antiques she inherited through the years of her life. She was a firm believer in taking care of and honoring the blessings God had given her; with her favorite pastime being tending to her flowers and land. She had many roles in life, but her favorite was being Gran to all her grands. Her family will hold onto the memories with her, of sunny summer days by the pool, spur of the moment lunch dates throughout the week, and their most favorite; her singing “Happy Birthday” to them each year.

She was a member of Wallerville Baptist Church. Patricia was a strong, Christian woman; whose faith filled walk with The Lord was never ceasing. You could often find her sitting on her patio, sipping coffee, with devotion and Bible in hand. She was an avid supporter of In Touch Ministries and Turning Point.

She is survived by her children; Candace(Jimmy) McDowell and Jeremy(Tiffany) Watts, and Ben Hogue and Phil(Holly) Hogue, all of New Albany, MS; Her grandchildren; Bethany(Justin) Wright, Brooke(Austin) Armstrong, Kristina Watts, Autumn(Ben) Washington, Logan Watts, Mallory(Ejai) Berryman; Jackson, Riley, Jon Colin, and Jacie Hogue; 12 great grandchildren; Her sister, Donna(James) Harris, of Tupelo, MS; and her best friend Judy Purvis Mengel, of Millersburg, Ohio.
