Patricia Wheeler, 90

June 15, 1935 – July 9, 2025

Phoenix, Arizona—Affectionately known by many as Miss Pat, Patricia Ann Wheeler passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at the Northwest Medical Center in La Porte, Indiana after a brief illness. She had recently celebrated her 90th birthday. Born June 15, 1935 in Michigan City, Indiana, Pat was the daughter of Louis and Hazel Westphal. In 1954, she married William Curtis “WC” Wheeler and they enjoyed 64 years of marriage before his passing on January 25, 2018. Following his death, Pat and her daughter Brenda moved from Tupelo to be near her son Michael in Phoenix. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed walking to stay active. Pat loved her little Yorkies, Sam and Rocky and found great joy in their companionship. However, the moments she loved most were those spent with the family she adored and who adored her.

Pat leaves behind three children, Sherry Sims of Westville, Indiana; Michael Wheeler (Denis) of Phoenix, Arizona, and Brenda Brooks of Phoenix; three grandchildren, Michelle Sims, Rachel Keith, and Brittney Bocarando; great-grandchildren, Amanda Floyd, Kevin Hughes, Dylan Garrison, Jasob Garrison, Hunter Keith, Brayden Keith, Hilario Carillo, and Desmond Bocarando; great-great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Zaedyn, Zoey, Drake, Analyn, and Kinsley; her sister, Janice Sears; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a son, Randy Wheeler; and a son-in-law, Patrick Sims.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Pegues, Tupelo.

Services honoring Pat’s memory will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Jefferson Street Chapel with Rev. Blake Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow in Gilvo Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Hughes, Patrick Armstrong, Hunter Keith, Jasob Garrison, Michael Vasquez, and Zaedyn Floyd.
