Patsy Norman, 86

August 24, 1939  –  July 25, 2025

Belden-Patsy Ann Wheeler Norman, 86, departed her earthly home for her heavenly home from her Belden residence on Friday, July 25, 2025, after a period of declining health. She was 86. Known all her life at Pat, she was born in Booneville to the late James Hardy Prentiss and Annie Mae Mattox. She graduated from Baldwyn High School in 1958 and married on May 30, l958, her lifelong sweetheart and soulmate, Frank Norman, II who died on April 1, 2023, a marriage of 65 years. Pat was a medical assistant to the late Dr. P. K. Thomas for over 40 years, a job she dearly loved. It was here that she came in contact with area children, their Mothers and families through Dr. Thomas’ OBGYN practice. A lively lady whose independence, work ethic and her maternal instincts made her a force of nature, she completely loved and doted over her 2 daughters and especially her grandchildren, who knew her as Nana. A master cook, Pat enjoyed gardening and crocheting and she never got enough of watching great westerns on TV. She was a longtime member of West Jackson St. Baptist Church where she taught 5 year olds for decades.

A service celebrating her life will take place at 4 PM today, Sunday, July 27, 2025 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with her pastor, Dr. Keith Cochran officiating. Private burial will be in Lee Memorial Park on Monday. Visitation will be from 3 PM-service time Sunday only.
