Paul B. Hitchcock, 86

Tupelo-Paul B. Hitchcock passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Tupelo Community Care after a lengthy illness. He was 87 years old. Born August 7, 1939 in Pontotoc County, he was the son of Chester B. Hitchcock and Annie Lou Roberts Hitchcock. Paul was a member of Wallfield Baptist Church and lived out his faith daily through his quiet and humble character. He was known by all as a man with a strong work ethic and one who would help others anyway he could. Paul enjoyed tinkering on cars but his greatest joy came from moments spent with his children and grandchildren.
Paul leaves behind his daughters, Paula Houser and Joy Funderburk; his sons, Greg Hitchcock (Kristina) and Shawn Hitchcock (Farra Kelly); grandchildren, Robyn Lynn Tatum, Christy Diane, Dominick Walker, Riley Hitchcock, Sydney Hitchcock, Darren Hitchcock, D’lisa Stamper, Payton Hitchcock, Hunter Hitchcock, and Trinity Hare, and Baylee Hitchcock; great-grandchildren, Kylee Capps, Kloe Capps, Kaleb, Karley, Hayden Hitchcock, Noah Stamper, Johnnie Hogue, and Liam Fredrick; two sisters, Jean Lanoma Hitchcock Daniels and Charlotte Ann Hitchcock Turner; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Henry Allen Hitchcock, James Dow Hitchcock, Ken Nelson Hitchcock, and Rex Dale Hitchcock.
Visitation will be 12 until service time Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Pegues, Tupelo.
Services celebrating Paul’s life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues. Graveside services will follow at Priceville Cemetery.
Paul’s sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
