Pedestrian killed on I-22 in Benton County

A pedestrian was killed on Interstate 22 in Benton County, Friday evening, Nov. 9th.

Union County Coroner Pam Bowman said Memphis resident Randy Allen Barnes, age 39, was killed at 6:43 pm.

Barnes was struck by a trailer truck while walking on the roadway at Mile Marker 47 near Hickory Flat, several miles from the Union County line.

Union County Coroner Bowman worked the accident in Benton County at the request of the Benton County coroner, who was already working at another accident scene when the truck struck and killed Barnes.

The truck driver was not injured.
