Peggy Taylor, 61

February 12, 1964  –  April 27, 2025

Peggy Jo Ivey Taylor, affectionately known as Peggy Taylor, passed away on April 27, 2025, at the age of 61, at NMMC, in Tupelo, MS, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on February 12, 1964, in New Albany, MS, Peggy was the cherished daughter of Calvin Coolidge Ivey and Carolyn Davis Ivey. Her journey through life was marked by unwavering faith, boundless love, and a gentle spirit that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Peggy’s life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family bonds. She found her lifelong partner in Robert Taylor, and together they built a life full of joy and shared dreams. Peggy’s legacy is carried on through her devoted mother, Carolyn Ivey; her loving husband, Robert; her daughters, Robin Taylor Leach (Lewis) and Emily Taylor Grose (John Paul); her twin sister, Penny Ivey Carter (Bobby); sisters Anita Culver (Wade) and Vickie Ervin; her cherished grandchildren, Ethan, Jake, Alexa, Emma, Cooper, and Alex; and her adored great-grandchild, Melieah. She was greeted in heaven by her father, her brothers, Keith Ivey and Dennis York, and her brother-in-law, Glenn Ervin, who preceded her in death.

Peggy’s calling in life was one of nurturing and care. As a homemaker and retired childcare giver, she dedicated her time to creating a warm and loving environment for all the children who were fortunate enough to be in her care. Her selfless nature was evident in every meal she prepared, every band-aid she placed, and every story she told. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as scouring yard sales for treasures and cooking for her family, activities that became cherished traditions.

Her heart was truly at home within the walls of Victory Life Center, where she was not just a member but a pillar of her church community. Peggy’s involvement in church activities and events was not merely participation but a demonstration of her deep faith and commitment to serving others. Her faith-filled life was an inspiration to many, guiding her actions and spreading light to those around her.

As we remember Peggy Jo Ivey Taylor, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a soul that enriched the lives of many. Her memory will forever be cherished as a beacon of love, kindness, and grace. Peggy’s spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, just as the memories of her love and devotion will be a comforting presence for all who were blessed to know her.
