Phyllis Barber, 78

Shannon – Mrs. Phyllis Floyd Barber, age 78, died Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Generations Assisted Living where she resided for the past year. She was born October 11, 1946 in Lee County, Mississippi to the late A. B. Floyd and Bernell “Nell” Brazile Floyd. Phyllis was a high school graduate and continued her studies at Itawamba Community College. She married William Clifton “W.C.” Barber March 30, 1979 and they shared 39 years together before his death, August 6, 2018. She enjoyed painting, reading, riding horses, and loved all God’s creation, especially cats and dogs.
Phyllis was a member of St. James Catholic Church where she was active until her health began to fail.
Phyllis is survived by two nieces, Mary Elizabeth Bishop (Mark) of Guntown and Katy Irwin (Kyle) of Saltillo, as well as a host of other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Abner and Nell Floyd; husband, W. C. Barber; and brother, Harry Floyd.
