Quarterly City Beautification awards announced

New Albany City Beautification awards were presented Monday morning, June 11, to a residential winner and a business honoree.

The traditional, landscaped home of Mike and Jennifer Beam received the residential home. City Beautification Committee Members Jolyn Cooke and Sandy Shaddinger presented the award to the Beams at their home at 406 Reeves St.

Attorney Chandler Rogers was presented with the Business Beautification Award by Sandy Shaddinger.

The law firm of Chandler Rogers received the Beautification Award for commercial establishments. The Rogers law offices are located at 201 East Bankhead.

The Beautification Awards are given quarterly.

The Beautification Committee held its regular monthly meeting earlier Monday morning at New Albany City Hall. Among the items discussed were:
–Selection of a design for a sign to hang on the new archway at the Tanglefoot Trailhead
–Discussion of naming areas of New Albany as “districts” as has been done in Tupelo.
