Two cars derail on spur connecting Burlington-Northern and Ripley and New Albany rail lines
Rail switching between the Burlington-Northern and Ripley and New Albany lines was interrupted Thursday morning after two cars derailed.
Railroad crews initially said they were not sure what caused the accident but the derail did occur in a switch area.
The two main rail lines were not affected.
Equipment was brought in to run cables beneath the cars to create a sort of cradle. The cars were then lifted by the equipment and set back on the tracks about an hour and a half later.
