Randy Goolsby, 59
June 28, 1965 – June 26, 2025
Randal “Randy” Lee Goolsby of New Albany, MS, passed away on June 26, 2025, due to an accident.
Born in Arkansas on June 28, 1965, and raised in New Albany, MS, Randy was the son of the late Lee Goolsby and Peggy Brown Goolsby. He was the brother to Sport Goolsby, and Pam Goolsby Gentry (Brad).
A true jack of all trades, Randy, had a natural gift for fixing, building, and creating. Whether he was working as a mechanic, doing carpentry, or anything in between, he gave it his all. He was also an incredible artist, known for his detailed charcoal sketches, and a gifted musician who could play piano and guitar by ear. Music and creativity flowed through him, and many days ended with him singing and strumming his guitar.
Randy’s greatest joy in life was his family. He had four children; Jordan Moore (Devin) of Fulton, Presley Kloac (Wes) of Saltillo, Jack Goolsby, and Josh Goolsby (Alex), of New Albany. He was lovingly known as “Grandy” to Lynlee, Rylee Randall, Steeley Jo, Bear, and Bo. After many years of working in Mesquite, TX, Randy returned home to Mississippi to be close to his children and grandchildren. His happiest moments were spent with all of them gathered under one roof, sharing meals and laughter.
Randy was known for his humor, generosity, and charm. Often wearing his Peterbilt hat, jeans, and boots, he could light up any room and make everyone feel at home. He loved playing pool with his sons, bowling, listening to music, and being with his people. He had a heart as big as his laugh, and he would have given the shirt off his back without hesitation. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his talent, his laughter, and the love he gave so freely.
Visitation to honor his life will be Monday, June30, 2025, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at United Funeral Service, with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM also at United, with Bro.
