Randy McMickin, 73

October 19, 1952 – July 23, 2026

TUPELO – Randall “Randy” McMickin, 73, died on Thursday, July 23, 2026 in Madison, Alabama. Randy was born on October 19, 1952 to Furman and Etah McMickin in Guin, Alabama. Randy dedicated many years working as a General Contractor for multiple companies, but in his down time, he always had a deep love for music, especially playing music. From his teenage years, to the end of his life, he was always playing his bass guitar. His family knew he was so happy to be most recently a part of the Tupelo First Baptist Church band, as well as many other bands throughout his life.



Randy is preceded in death by his mother, Etah; his father, Furman McMickin; and one granddaughter, McKinley Batchelor.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Diane, of Tupelo, Mississippi; his daughter, Ashley Batchelor (Keith), of Lakeland, Tennessee; his granddaughter, Bailey Batchelor, of Lakeland, Tennessee; his sister, Wanda Loague (Randy), of Mantachie, Mississippi; two brothers, Terry McMickin (Sandy), of Tupelo, Mississippi, and Sean McMickin (Pam), of Tupelo, Mississippi; and a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Pallbearers for the service will be Anthony Dunaway, Tim Martin, Scott Lentz, Josh West, Luke West, and Jason Harris.

Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Loague and Chris Loague.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues. Another visitation will be held Monday, July 27, 2026 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Tupelo, Mississippi.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Tupelo with Bro. Matt Powell, Bro. Randy Wood and Bro. David Hamilton officiating. Graveside service will follow at Lee Memorial Park in Verona, Mississippi.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
