Randy Ray Wright, 64

November 24, 1959  –  July 13, 2024

SALTILLO – Randy Ray Wright, 64, passed away July 13, 2024, at 6:30 AM at home on hospice surrounded by his loved ones and friends. He was born on November 24, 1959, to the late Gilbert Wright, and the late Mildred Wright (Hebert). He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Verona, MS. Randy was known as Two Step by his friend and family but loved to be called Pawpaw by his grandchildren. Randy drove a truck over the road for many years. He decided to retire from trucking and work close to home when his first grandchild was born. He then went to work for Andy Hodges Construction and worked for 10 years. He always considered Andy and Robin as family instead of employer. Randy loved to ride his Harley Davidson Motorcycle with his buddies and just hang out. He always wanted to take his grandson fishing one day but health seemed to get in the way.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 2 PM on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo with Bro. Keith Bass and Bro. William Bass officiating. Visitation will be from 11 AM to service time Monday only. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed at 2 PM on Monday and archived thereafter at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/live-streaming.

He is survived by the love of his life of 37 years, Brenda Wright; his twin sister, Sandy Kay Wright; three sons, Nicholas Wright and his wife Cookie of Saltillo, Justin Wright and his wife Bethany of Blue Springs, and Jacob Wright of Saltillo. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Peyton Wright, Andaa Wright, Endoo Wright, Tucker Wright, Becket Wright, and Noah James Wright, and two others that he claims as his grandchildren, Jovan Bass, and Alegiha Bass of Booneville, MS; nieces and nephews and cousins he loved with all his heart, including his special bond with three nephews, Keith Bass, Danile Bass, and David Wright.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Gilbert Wright, Sr. and Mildred Hebert (Wright); brothers, Bobby Wright, James Gilbert Wright, Jr. (Jimmy), and Charles Cudd (Chuck); and sister, Dorothy Hubbard.
