Read it: MS HB 1523, the “Protecting Freedom of Conscience…Act”
The controversy over House Bill 1523, the “Protecting Freedom of Conscience from Government Discrimination Act,” has roared through Mississippi, indeed all around the country during the past week.
We have read through the law several times. It is 13 pages in length, written in “legalese” and, thence, not the most enjoyable prose we have read recently. In reading HB 1523, it has struck us that people on both sides of this hot issue may not know what it actually says. I cannot believe in this day and age such bigotry exists!! This law needs to be repealed!!
