Robert Allen Smith, 53
March 22, 1971 – August 4, 2025
Tupelo, MS – Robbie Smith died Monday August 4, 2025, at home, after a lengthy illness. He was born March 22, 1971 to Danny L Smith and Violet Griffin Smith at Ramstein Air Base in Landstuhl, Germany. He was a lifelong resident of Tupelo, MS after his family returned from Germany. He was a graduate of Tupelo High School in 1989 and attended Itawamba Community College. He attended Harrisburg Baptist Church.
He worked at the family business, Todd’s Big Star, for many years before working at Nabisco Foods, where he worked until he became disabled in 2013. Robbie grew up with a love of wrestling, starting with Memphis Wrestling all the way up through the WWE years. He was a comic book aficionado and collector of super hero mementos. He had a raw untrained talent for art, he loved drawing the comics as much as collecting them. He was an avid Ole Miss Rebel Fan for his entire life. He enjoyed watching westerns on TV and tinkering with small projects around the house, bringing items back to life that was destined for the scrap pile. He also enjoyed assembling jigsaw puzzles and turning them into wall art. Robbie had many more hobbies, interests, talents, other than what’s listed here.
Robbie’s friends meant as much to him as family. His Sunday afternoon jigsaw dates to his new year’s trips to the beach help keep his spirits up.
He is survived by his mother, Violet Griffin Smith; sister, Michelle Smith Layton and her husband, Kevin S. Layton; and his beloved niece, Laura Ashton Layton, all of Tupelo; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by his life long best friend, Chris Tollison and wife, Meredith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Danny L Smith; grandparents Thomas Earl and Dollie Smith; Vaudry and Clara Mae Griffin.
Services will be Wednesday, August 6, 2025 with visitation from 11:00 A.M until the time of service at 1:00 P.M. at Holland Funeral Home in Tupelo. Burial will be at Lee Memorial Park in Verona with no graveside service.
