Rodney Lee DeVaughn, 70, of Blue Springs, Mississippi, passed away on September 15, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Rodney was born on June 15, 1956, in Mississippi to Jack and Mildred Hatfield DeVaughn. A hardworking man throughout his life, Rodney spent many years as a truck driver before later working as a plumber. He believed in working hard and providing for those he loved, but his family was always what mattered most to him.

When he wasn’t working, Rodney enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved watching old westerns and especially looked forward to trips to Florida. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and treasured the memories they made together.

Rodney is survived by his daughter, Brittney Harrington (William Stump); his grandson, Dawson DeVaughn; his sisters, Alana Conway and Linda Kay Kidd; his brother, Ricky DeVaughn; as well as other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mildred DeVaughn; his son, Randy Lee DeVaughn; his brothers, Harvey DeVaughn and Sammy DeVaughn; and his sisters, Patsy McCaine, Jackie Nichols, and Rita DeVaughn.

Visitation will be held Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Sand Springs Community Church in the Hurricane Community of Pontotoc County. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the church, with burial following in Sand Springs Cemetery.
