Ronnie Wise, 73

August 6, 1952 – September 29, 2025

Ronald Loyd Wise, affectionately known as Ronnie by his friends and family, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 29, 2025, in New Albany, MS, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and selflessness. Born on August 6, 1952, to Loyd Windham Wise and Beulah Magdalene Williams Wise, Ronnie was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew him. His parents, who instilled in him the values of kindness and devotion, preceded him in death.

Ronnie’s life was one of service and joy. He spent many years as a truck driver, taking pride in his role at Marten Transport, where he fondly referred to himself as a “grocery relocator.” His work ethic and infectious sense of humor made him a beloved figure among his colleagues. Upon retirement, Ronnie continued to share stories of the open road and the friendships he forged along the way.

A Christian, Ronnie was a member of Ingomar Baptist Church. He lived his beliefs through his actions, always putting others before himself and exemplifying what it means to walk in love, always greeting folks with his hearty laugh and warm embrace.

However, it was his role as a family man that Ronnie cherished the most. Known as “Big” to his loved ones, his heart seemed to expand with each new addition to the family. He took immense pleasure in being involved in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Ronnie and his wife, Jackie, were inseparable, sharing a love that was both deep and enduring. Together, they enjoyed family vacations, creating memories that would last several lifetimes.

Ronnie’s brothers and their spouses held a special place in his life. The bond they shared was not just one of blood but of genuine friendship and mutual respect. They, along with the rest of his family, will miss his guidance, his laughter, and his unwavering support.

To say that Ronnie was loving would be an understatement. He was the epitome of generosity, always willing to give more than he had. His selflessness was legendary, often exemplified by his readiness to offer the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was a simple man by his own account, but his impact on the world was anything but. Ronnie loved life with every fiber of his being, and his absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ronnie Wise’s legacy is not just in the stories he told or the help he gave but in the love he spread so freely. He was a man of extraordinary character, and while he may have departed from this world, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. As we say see you later to Ronnie, we also say thank you—for the laughter, the lessons, and the unconditional love. Rest in peace, dear “Big” until we meet again.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Jackie Moss Wise; his daughter Missy Wise Dodd (Timmy Hall), his son, Shane Wise; his grandchildren, Kyle Dodd(Kaycee), Matthew and Maggie Dodd, and McKensie Wise; his great-grands, Emmie, Hazel, and Eason Dodd; his brothers, Rick Wise(Phyllis), and Mike Wise(Darnell). He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Penny Wise.
