Fugitive horse finally in custody late Friday morning

Emergency Management Director Curt Clayton said the horse officers and other have been chasing off and on for two days was roped and headed home about 11 a.m. Friday.

Clayton, who also handles animal control for the county, said Mark and Mike Pannell, Hunter Bryant, Ben Gaines and David Frazier deserve credit for helping animal control in corralling the horse.

City and county officers had been trying to capture the horse because it was running across Highway 15 South and got on I-22 as well, presenting the danger of an accident.
