Russell Lee Waldrop, 67

March 3, 1958 – August 15, 2025

Russell Lee Waldrop, 67, of Walnut Mississippi departed this earth for his heavenly home on Aug 15th, 2025, following a brief illness.



Funeral Service honoring Russell’s life will be at 10 AM Tuesday August 19, 2025, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home with visitation from 9 AM until time of service. Bro. Doc Dollar will officiate, and graveside service will follow in Campground Cemetery for those able to attend.

Russell was born on March 3rd, 1958, to the late Clarence and Audrey Wammack Waldrop. He was a loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to car shows, spending time with loved ones and his jackrussell companion Rock, and was an avid gun enthusiast and welder fabricator. He served his communities as a member of Threeforks fire department and later as member of Walnut fire department for many years. He was a member of the boiler maker union and employed as a welder at Thyssenkrupp elevators for over 20 years when he retired. He also worked at Ashley furniture as a maintenance technician and was a sewing machine mechanic at the shoe factory for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Audrey Waldrop, his brother Grady and his wife Deborah Waldrop, and nephew Brian Waldrop.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 31 years Lola Skinner Waldrop, His sons Josh Waldrop (Mandy) of Blue Mountain, Kyle Waldrop of Ashland, Ethan Waldrop (Beth) of Walnut and stepson Jim Wilbanks (Jenny) of Walnut, A brother Jerry Waldrop (Phyllis) of Lamar, and several grandchildren Daisy, JJ, Brentley, Coleigh, Bethany, and Lexi Waldrop, Chase and Kelsey Rodgers.

Pallbearers will be Ethan Waldrop, Josh Waldrop, Kyle Waldrop, Jim Wilbanks, JJ Waldrop, and Bethany Waldrop. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Baker, Carl Wilbanks, and Mitch Wammack.
