Ryan Omar “Rickey” Dye, 70
June 1, 1955 – January 30, 2026
Ryan grew up in Detroit, Michigan, reared by his mom and with his siblings, William and Almitra (Mimi). After academic life came military life and a move to the South, in Tupelo, Mississippi, where he made his home with the love of his life, Ruby, whom he met working at Hernandez Hair Care.
They reared their son Damon in Tupelo, Mississippi, never parting- 42 years of life together. Ryan was formerly employed in radio and as a trucker for many years, traveling all through the United States.
Ryan’s big personality and wonderful sense of humor made every stranger a friend. He loved and was beloved by his doggies and family-
Rickey, leaving behind his loving and devoted wife, Ruby Dye, his son, Damon Clanton, his mother, Jean Heavins Dye, his grandchildren, Ericka and Jordan Clanton, will miss him as well as his mom and siblings, sisters-in-law, Velvelon Fernandez, Sherry (Michael) Sims, and a host of family all over the map. His dog Miracle.
Preceded in death by his brother Martin Rickey, you will always be remembered in the hearts of those that loved you.
