Sadie Elizabeth Timms, 92

January 17, 1932 — August 31, 2024

Saltillo- Sadie Elizabeth Timms, 92, peacefully passed away early Saturday morning on August 31, 2024, at Sanctuary Hospice House. Elizabeth was born on January 17, 1932, to Luther Edger Russell and Tiny Dovie Hester Russell. She was a loving and supportive spouse to her late husband of 55 years, Marcus David Lee Timms, and an attentive mother to their three daughters; but her favorite role was grandmother and great-grandmother. Elizabeth began her career at Vernon Steak House where she worked for over 25 years, and then worked for another 25 years at Hancock Fabric before retiring. She enjoyed playing bingo and canasta with special friends. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed a murder mystery. She often watched game shows and true crime shows in her free time.

Elizabeth is survived by her three daughters, Dr. Denise Thornton-Orr and her husband, Steve, of Iuka; Diane Fields and her husband, Art, of Arlington, Tennessee; and Delisa Timms of Saltillo; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Luhm, Casey Thornton, Ryan Orr, Kelly Thornton, Courtney Barnett, Cody Edrington, and Kenzie Fields Cooley; and eleven great-grandchildren. She also is survived by numerous extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Timms; parents, Luther and Dovie Russell; seven brothers; and one sister.

Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Sunday, September 1, 2024, at Pegues, Saltillo.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 2, 2024, at Crossroads Cemetery. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
