Sarah Kern, 90
February 13, 1935 – March 22, 2025
Sarah Evelyn Riddle Kern, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, transitioned to her eternal home on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS.
She was born February 13, 1935, in Ingomar, MS to the late Jamie Riddle and Sarah Haynes Riddle McMillen. She showcased her artistic talents in many ways, which included, but were not limited to, creating special keepsakes at Long’s Portrait Studio in New Albany by using oil paints to convert sepia photos to color oil canvases, creating pieces of art using Artex Paints, teaching others to create with Artex, baking and decorating cakes for weddings and other events and making life-size baby dolls, complete with clothes she sewed specially for each doll. She enjoyed taking pictures of her family members and others at reunions and other family events to share with each of them. She was a member of Ingomar Baptist Church, and even though she had been unable to attend in recent years, she enjoyed watching live streams of services each Sunday.
She was a special lady who loved well and was well loved by all. Those left to cherish her memory include her son and daughter-in-love, Buddy and Sandy Dixon, and their children Amber Adams (Shayne) and Ben Dixon (Brandi), along with great-grandchildren Caleb, Landon, Elias and Lyla Grayce Adams, Anna and Grayson Crane and Molly Dixon, all of New Albany; bonus son, Ron Frohmann (Sandy) and their children, David (Anna) Frohmann and Holly (Mike) Martin, as well as their grandchildren, all of St. Louis, MO area; sister, Patricia Grisham of New Albany, and brothers, Butch McMillen of New Albany and Billy Riddle of Jackson, MS, sisters- in- law, Debbie McMillen of Ecru and Myra Riddle of New Albany, and many special cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Capt. Kenneth Kern and two brothers, Jimmy Riddle and Harry McMillen.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 5 pm – 7 pm at Ingomar Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 11:30 am also at Ingomar Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Ben Dixon, Shayne Adams, W.C. Grisham, Skeeter Grisham, Chandler McMillen, Dick Riddle, Jamie Riddle and Jim Riddle, Jr. Memorials may be made to Sanctuary Hospice House, 5159 W Main, Tupelo or to Ingomar Baptist Church , 1112 CR 90, New Albany. United Funeral Services are in charge of arrangements
