UPDATED: Severe thunderstorm downs trees, causes damages and power outages

Emergency officials report no injuries known at this time.

NALGW says power in parts of city may not be restored until Sunday afternoon.

Severe thunderstorms rolled through New Albany around midnight Saturday bringing high winds and causing damage and power outages across the area.

A lot of trees and limbs are down in parts of town with many old, partially rotten trees. Therefore, power outages occurred in these areas.

As of 2:30Am, in much of the newer (western) parts of the city, power was on and conditions were near normal. Other parts of town are still without power.

Tree down on New Albany Health and Rehab.

Tree down at or near Middle School.

Large pile of damaged building materials on sidewalk in front of Regions Bank, about 20 feet long. Probable significant damage to one of the nearby buildings, but not known at this time which one.
